A few quick notes....

Thank you for sending in so many recycled materials!  Friday will be a fun day.  We have spent the week discussing photographs of birds, researching how birds survive in the winter and how we can create a winter habitat for birds in Maryland.  Tomorrow students will sketch their bird house design in teams.  Students will make a list of the materials that they need to create their bird house.  Each material is $1.  Each time will have $20 to spend....so they must budget!  Once they have approved their design with me, they will begin to build.  Many pictures to come!!

You may have heard your student talking about a "Glitter Clip."  I've had a good kind of problem in the past few weeks.  I would move friends to "reach for the stars" and then I would ask them to move their clip again and it was already up to the top.  On the back of each clip I painted glitter.  If your students is on "reach for the stars" but then goes above and beyond again, they can flip their clip over to the glitter side.  The students are very excited about this!!!  If they have a glitter day I will write "glitter" in their folder.
